This <br /> <br /> <br />is the driest year on record for the period 1906 - 1978. <br /> <br /> <br />Storage Changes <br /> <br /> <br />Upper and Lower Basins reservoir storage increased <br /> <br />since 1972 as shown on Table 2. Basinwide storage at the <br />end of calendar year 1978 was about 6.4- million acre-feet <br />greater than at the end of 1972. Of the total increase. <br />2.9 million acre-feet was in the Upper Basin and 3.5 million <br />acre-feet was in the Lower Basin.
