Y, 1980 at $1. 7 <br /> <br />million. SCS is to continue providing technical assistance <br />in Grand Valley at an appropriate level, Congress also <br />recommended that $2 million of ACP funding be used to initi- <br /> <br />ate cost-sharing of salinity control measures in the Uinta <br />Basin, Utah. Funding for technical assistance bySCS in <br />the Uinta Basin will be as appropriate to service the program. <br /> <br />Bureau of Land Management Program <br />In 1977, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued a <br />status report on the effect of land surface disturbance on <br /> <br />salinity. <br /> <br />The report identified measures which have poten- <br /> <br />tial for salinity control. <br /> <br />In July 1979, all BLM field <br /> <br />offices were notified of modifications to the 1977 Report <br />and provided with guidance on recommended procedures for <br />identifying saline lands and practices for salinity control. <br />A draft of the BLM 1978-79 Status Report, "Control of Salinity <br />from Point Sources Yielding Groundwater Discharge and from <br />Diffuse Surface Runoff", has been prepared and following a <br />review process, will be available for distribution in early <br />1980 calendar year. <br />The BLM is continuing to collect water quality data on <br />ephemeral and perennial streams coming from public land <br />watersheds.
