Flood Control A more detailed analysis of the flood control benefits provided by the unit was made by the Corps of Engineers. As a result, these benefits were increased from $961,000 to $1,599,000. The Corps of Engineer's letter report dated April 10, 1969 is appended to this reevaluation statement. The Corps' of Engineers has completed a preliminary appraisal of flood control aspects for Bijou and lower South Platte valleys. They have found a feasible solution for alleviating a significant portion of damages presently experienced. Their flood control proposal does not depend on, but rather complements, the Narrows Project. Therefore, the contingent condition relating to Bijou valley flood control as described on pages 35 and 36 of the January 1967 Narrows Project report has been satisfied. 5
