PREFACE

This document is the first in a series of evaluations to be
performed in the Colorado River Basin in utah. These evaluations
are accomplished with the use of an interdisciplinary team of
experienced professional. The team members are from various
state and federal agencies, thus adding the interagency and
intergovernmental aspects to the evaluations. Team members are
from the Department of the Interior, us Geological survey; the
Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management; and the
Department of Agriculture, soil Conservation service. Logistical
and administrative support for these studies has come from the
Utah Department of Agriculture. Funding support has come from
the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation as well as
the above mentioned federal agencies. The Colorado Salinity
Control Forum is the main sponsor in the creation of the plan for
these studies and participates in the management of the
evaluation process. The team is overseen by a steering committee
consisting of representatives of all of the above agencies and
other interested groups.
