<br />UPDATE ON WATER YIELD ISSUE (#12) IN INTERMOUNTAIN REGION PLAN <br /> <br />"lATER PROGRAM <br /> <br />PROGRAM EMPHASIS <br /> <br />Give special emphasis to water yield opportunities in the Colorado <br />River Basin. This applies to analysis' areas 2 (Central Rockies), 3 <br />(Southern Rockies), and 4 (Colorado Plateau) <br /> <br />GENERAL PROGRAM EMPHASIS FOR ALL ANALYStS AREAS FOR WATER YIELD <br />AND RELATED ISSUES <br /> <br />Ensure that water yield is maintained or enhanced through ongoing <br />activities. <br /> <br />Water yield augmentation will be considered in relation to all other <br />ongoing resource activities so that opportunities of timing and <br />increased yield are not foregone. <br /> <br />Environmentally acceptable water yield projects funded by Out-Service <br />sources will be permitted on National ~orest lands, provided they are <br />compatible with other resource uses. <br /> <br />Support desirable water development projects on Nationa1 .Forest land. <br /> <br />Ensure that water project developments provide overall public values <br />that are no less than total values before development occurred. <br /> <br />Recognize in planning, potential water development projects identified <br />by other agencies to be located on National Forest lands. <br /> <br />Jointly plan with cooperators, Out-Service water development projects <br />on National Forest land 'and carry out construction liaison. <br /> <br />B-32 <br />
