The Water Augmen- <br />tation Ad Hoc Committee will respond annually to the Water and Vegetation <br />Subcommittee. Mr. Valentine gave a report on the formation and progress <br />of his Task Force. <br /> <br />The Task Force met on April 6, 1981, pri0r to the PSIAC meeting. <br />Chairman Valentine reviewed the purpose of the. Task Force, which is to <br />monitor work by the Water and Power Resources Service on cloud seeding <br />programs and by the U. S. Forest Service on vegetative management programs, <br />and to report to the PSIAC on progress and on actions that may be taken <br />to facilitate programs. Mr. Olin Foehner reported on Colorado River <br />Augmentation Hearings before the House Subcommittee on Water and Power <br />Resources on March 25. He said that the testimony strongly supported <br />weather modification and vegetative management studies, and that the <br />Congressmen were very supportive. Mr. Foehner said that the WPRS has <br />sufficient funds from line items in the budget to conduct office studies <br />for the program, but additional funds are needed for field studies. The <br />WPRS is processing a Secretarial Issue Document which, if approved by <br />Secretary of Interior Watts, would enable the WPRS to budget for full <br />project implementation.
