Highway 189. <br />A compatible solution was reached in the problem of trona deposits <br />within the irrigable area of the project by the adoption of a plan for <br />stage development of the Seedskadee project which will allow the devel- <br />opment of both the trona and irrigation resources of the project. <br /> <br />SMITH FORK 'PARTICIPATING PROJECT, COLORADO <br /> <br />At June 30, 1961, work on the prime contract for construction of <br />the earthfill Crawford Dam was slightly ahead of schedule with phys- <br />ical completion estimated at 36 percent in 34 percent of the overall <br />time allowed by the cop.tract, Concrete placements were completed, <br />in the outlet works, intake structure, and outlet tunnel lining. <br />Contract for relocation of Black Canyon Road was completed <br />during the year. Contracts were awarded and work started on the <br />relocation of Colorado State Highway 92, and on earthwork and <br />structures for the Aspen Canal. <br /> <br />FLORIDA PARTICIPATING PROJECT) COLORADO <br /> <br />Funds were appropriated for initiating construction of the Florida <br />participating project during fiscal year 1961. Activity during the <br />$5cal year was directed mainly to the preparation of design data for <br />fisojeet features. A contract for construction of the Lemon Dam and <br />prunty road relocation was awarded June 30, 1961, in the amount of <br />cO,820,807, <br /> <br />ADVANCE PLANNING ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />The definite plan report on the Emery County project in Utah was <br />completed in October 1961, and funds were appropriated for initiating <br />constrllction in fiscal Y'lar 1962, <br />Investigations,and studies on the potential Crystal Dam and power- <br />plant of the'Curecanti storage unit were continued during the year. <br />Advance planning studies for definite plan. reports were continued <br />during the fiscal year on other authorized participating projects, <br /> <br />3. ALLocATION OF FEDERAL INVESTMENT <br /> <br />Section 6 of the authorizing act states that upon completion of each <br />unitj participating project, or separable feature thereof, the Secretary <br />shal allocate the total costs of constructing said unit, project, or <br />feature to the various purposes authorized in the act or authorized <br />under reclamation law.. No projects or units have been completed; <br />therefore, no formal allocations to the several purposes to be served <br />by the project have been made of the cost to June 30,1961.
