.

.

.

~lanatory Notes for Table 1

Column 2 Transmountain i~orts above Idylwilde Reservoir. Sum of the
historic recor ed imports of the six transmountain diversions
located above Idylwilde Reservoir. Names and drainage from
Which they divert are mentioned in the text.
Column 3 Idylwilde Reservoir In:f'low. The inflow is assumed the same as
the flow at the gaging station "Cache la Poudre River near
Rusticl" located a short distance upstream of the damsite.
This flow includes the imports (col. 2) and reflects the
regulation by upstream reservoirs. Flo;Ts of 1957 to 1960
are as recorded; 1956 flow partially recorded and partie.1ly
correlated; and 1947 to 1955 flOlfs were determined by
correlation.
Column 4 Gain - Idylwilde Dam to Rustic Diversion Dam. Tributary inflow
between features as determined by: one-third x (flow at
Elkhorn gage minus col. 3 minus col. 5)
Column 5 South Fork Runoff. The flow at the gaging station sitel "South
Fork Cache la POudre near Rustic." The flow reflects regu-
lation by upstream reservoirs. Flows of 1957 to 1960 are as
recorded; 1956 flow partie.1ly recorded and partie.1ly corre-
lated; and 1947 to J.955 flows were determined by correJ.ation.
Column 6 Transmountain imports to North Fork. Sum of the two trans-
mountain diversions into the North Foxk CaChe la Poudre.
Names and drainage from which they divert are mentioned in
the text.
Column 7 North Fork Runoff including imports. Sum of the recorded flow
at gaging station 'North Fork Cache la Poudre River near
Livermore" and diversions of the North Poudre Ca.ne.1 (col.10).
Although the North Poudre Ca.ne.1 diverts above Livermore, the
water diverted is considered part of the Mountain Supply.
This runoff includes the imports (col. 6) and reguJ.ation by
upstream reservoirs.
Column 8 Gain - Rustic Diversion Dam to Grey Mountain Reservoir. This
gain is the totaJ. inf'low between Rustic diversion dam and"
Grey Mountain Reservo:l.r and represents the water not regu-
lated through the power system. Sum of: (a) two-thirds x
(flOlf at Elkhorn gage minus col. 3 minus col. 5). This
portion of the gain includes Bennett and Elkhorn Creeks.
(b) The South Fork Runoff, col. 5. (c) The North Fork
Runoff, col. 7. (d) The gain from the Elkhorn gage and
Livermore gage to Grey Mountain Reservoir. This gain
equals col. 12 plus col. II minus the Elkhorn gage minus
the Livermore gage.
Column 9 The Mountain SuPPq. The historic water supply available at
Grey Mountain Damsi te differs slightly from the Grey
Mountain Reservoir inflOlf due to losses and change in
storage at Idylwilde Reservoir, (Note Table 8).
Col. 9 equals col. 3 plus col. 4 plus col. 8
also col. 9 equals col. 12 plus col. 11 plus col. 10.
Column 10 North .Poudre Canal Diversions. Estimated from partial diversion
records and change in content of plains reservoirs served by
the canal with an estimated transportation loss.
Column II TQte.1 of 3 Diversions above Ga~e. Sum of the indicated diver-
sions 'Which divert inunediately above "mouth of canyon l!11($e."
Oolumn J.2 Recorded Flow at "mouth of canyon" Gage. The historic recorded
flow at the gaging station uncorrected for diversions above
gage.

16
