The multiple- <br />purpose unit could serve the functions of hydroelectric power, <br />municipal and industriaJ. water supply, irrigation, recreation, <br />fish and wildlife, minor flood control, and possibly water quality <br />control. <br /> <br />Authority <br /> <br />This report is authorized to be made by virtue of the FederaJ. <br />Reclamation Laws (Act of June 17, 1902, 32 Stat., 388 and acts <br />amendatory thereof or supp1.ementary thereto). <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Plan of Deve1.opment <br /> <br />The water resources of the Cache la Poudre va1.ley are already <br />highly developed--principal1y by private enterprise. A1.l dependable <br />supp1.ies have been put to at 1.east one initial use--generaily to <br />several succeeding uses. However, no use has been made of available <br />water supplies for the development of hydroelectric power. This <br />reconnaissance has disclosed the aPParent practicability of power <br />development and, simu1taneous1.y, enhancing the municipal and <br />industrial water supplies for Fort Collins and Gree1.ey, and improving <br />the irrigation water supply of the valley. Coordinate purposes of <br />recreation, fish and Wildlife, flood contro1., and possibly water <br />quality control would also be served. <br />
