The conferences would <br /> <br />be held on an annual or possibly less frequent basis. <br /> <br />Staff(P-M): 2 <br />Cost($lOOO): 12 <br /> <br />Hold MESA Committee Meetings <br /> <br />It is anticipated that much of the work of the Association Board of <br /> <br />Directors will be carried out through the standing or special committees.. <br /> <br />The committees would be charged with specific areas of responsibility, <br /> <br />such as policy and programs, coordination and planning, or appointed on <br /> <br />a temporary basis to complete an assigned task. The only current standing <br /> <br />committee is the Policy and Program Committee made up of the four Officers <br /> <br />of the Board of Directors. Committee functions require time and support <br /> <br />to meet, discuss issues or work activities, make recommendations and <br /> <br />report to the full Board of Directors. <br /> <br />Staff(P-M): 4 <br />Cost($lOOO): 24 <br /> <br />i>,duct Meetings to Solicit Public Views on Interstate Water Issues <br /> <br />Interstate water issues can often be sharpened and decision require- <br /> <br />ments identified by determining the views of the general public. As an <br /> <br />interstate organization, the Association would be in a position to <br /> <br />solicit public views on interstate or national water issues and objectively <br /> <br />present and possibly support recommendations on a particular issue to <br /> <br />the appropriate decision makers. Conducting such public meetings would <br /> <br />require Association time and financial support to prepare information, <br />
