HOOVLR: GOvernor Campbell. members of the Commission and <br />ladies and gentlemen: it is the :!JUrpose of the Colorado .diver <br />Commission to hold hearings !lare during this afternoon, tOJ:1o:rrow <br />and Friday. and to visit the Im~)erial Valley on Sunday, if '1ossi- <br />ble, and to reopen the he8rings again in I,os Angeles on 'i'uesday <br />morning. <br />It is the desire of the Commission to give an opportunity to <br />every interested person ~~ho can be of assistance to the (Jommission <br />in its work. The Commission has been established primarily to ~ <br />oonsider and, if possible, to agree upon a contract between the <br />se ven sta tes in the Colo rado aiver Basin, ]?rovi din g for an eq uit- <br />able division of the water supply of the Colorado .diver and its <br />tributaries amongst these seven states. Such a contract is su~- <br />.lect to the r!ltification by:,'Congress and the I egislatures of the <br />different ztbtes. <br /> <br />P. <br />
