<br />Phil Leggitt and I recieved a report of a mudslide on bjorn's Lake road from
<br />Dewey Lattin, caretaker of Bjorn's Lake Resort. The date that Hr. Lattin inform,
<br />us of the muds11de was in May 1985, the snow and mud was still bad enough that
<br />it is i~pos51ble to try and repair or evaluate the damage until the weather ~.~
<br />stabilizes and the muds11de stops moving a ._.~_
<br />June 22, 1985: Checked mudsl1de on Bjornls Lake road. Slide appears to have"

<br />: The muds110e is approximatly 200 to 300 feet across. The area from the creek"
<br />I to the top of where the slide started is about 600feet.
<br />; - A- section of this road including a culvert has slid down hill towards the West
<br />~ Fork of the San Juan Rivera The earth downhill of this section of road has wash
<br />away. The road is about 50 feet above the river. The telephone under ground wir
<br />is exposed and the pqwerline that s~pplles electricity to the resort has been.
<br />destroyed and will need to be repaired "hen the road is put back. . -,-;
<br />The expense of repair .has become a Problem. The question has arisen to who~s
<br />road is this. Does it belong to Forest Service or is it Y.ineral County's road?
<br />But the o~ner at the resort ~ants to.geV"their property, To resolve this proble
<br />the .fo:-est Service ordered a tracted Backhoe at~85.oo an hour, the Hineral Coun
