Table 1 shows the
last ten years' flow at Lee Ferry.

TABLE 1

MEASURED FLO\'l AT LEE FERRY
1969-70 to 1978-79

Water Year

Acre-feet

Total

8,688,000
8,607,000
9,330,000
10,141,000
8,270,000
9,274,000
8,494,000
8,234,000
8,244,000
8,262,000

87,544,000

8,754,000

1969-70
1970-71
1971-72
1972-73
1973-74
1974-75
1975-76
1976-77
1977-78
1978-79

10-year average

The 1978-79 water year was the 17th year since the closing of Glen
Canyon Dam. As Table 1 indicates, 87,544,000 acre-feet passed Lee Ferry
in the last ten years, thus meeting the obligation of Article III(d) of
the Colorado River Compact, i.e., that the States of the Upper Division
shall not cause the flow of the Colorado River at Lee Ferry to be depleted
below an aggregate of 75,000,000 acre-feet for any period of ten consec-
utive years. In addition to the Article III(d) Obligation, there are
other obligations of the Compact, such as the Mexican Water Treaty
obligation, which are being met.

The major Upper Basin reservoirs, Fontenelle plus the CRSP Reservoirs,
increased in storage by 4,893,000 acre-feet while other Upper Basin
reservoirs and the transbasin diversion reservoirs increased in storage
by 208,000 acre-feet, for a net increase of 5,101,000 acre-feet.
