Tables 8, 9, and 10 show <br />key aspects of hydroelectric power generation in 1979. <br /> <br />Operating levels and characteristics of the major reservoirs, except <br />Lakes Mohave and Havasu, at the beginning and the end of the water year are <br />shown in Table 8. Lakes Mohave and Havasu were held at relatively constant <br />levels. All reservoirs except Crystal, Blue Mesa, and Fontenelle stayed <br />above rated head elevation throughout the water year. Statistics on <br />operating year water releases from Hoover Dam and electric generation are <br />shown in Table 9. Generation at Hoover Dam during the '1978-79 operating <br />year was 4.3 percent below the previous operating year. <br /> <br />The Colorado River Board's 1963-64 Annual Report contains details of <br />the 1962 Glen Canyon Filling Criteria. These criteria establish an account- <br />ing system to handle the reduced Hoover generation caused by initial filling <br />of the Colorado River Storage Project (CRSP) reservoirs. Table 10 shows <br />the monthly values for the 1979 operating year and water year of the fim energy <br />deficiency. <br /> <br />-7- <br />
