During the past year. Fontenelle Reservoir
was operated for power generation, flood
control. fish and wildlife enhancement, and
recreation, During the fall and winter of
1977-78, the Reservoir water surface eleva-
t,on was reduced slowly from elevation
6500 feet at the beginning of the water
year to a low elevation of 6486 feet prior
10 spring runoff in March, The minimum
release during the fall and winter was 600
cubic feet per second (ft3/s), Maximum
inflow of 11.000 fP/s occurred in mid-June,
A late spring and cool early summer
temperatures combined to extend the
spring runoff well into summer, The
Reservoir reached maximum capacity of
358.000 acre-feet at elevation 6507 feet on
July 4, 1978 and remained full until late
August (Chart 1,)
