E. Hillier, senior author of the report, said "Devi!lopment of the
Arapahoe aquifer is increasing because well yields of several hundred
gallons per minute can be obtained and the quality of the water makes it
suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial use. Concentrations
of dissolved solids, fluoride, iron, manganese, and sulfate exceed the
recommended limits of the Colorado Department of Health for drinking
water in some wells. However, none of these constituents constitutes a
health hazard although excessive fluoride can cause mottling of children's
teeth and excessive sulfate can cause intestinal disorders. Hardness
may be a problem depending on the use of the water."

The report, "Hydrology of the Arapahoe aquifer in the Englewood-Castle
Rock area south of Denver, Denver Basin, Colorado," u.s.
