Objectives: <br /> <br />To determine field capacities and wilting points of represent- <br />ative soil at varying depths to correlate with tensiometer readings <br />as an aid in obtaining efficient irrigation management. <br /> <br />B. neneral Procedure: <br /> <br />1. Field capacity determinations. <br />l'oisture determinations will be made for the following <br />depths: 6-18", 18-30", .3O-L2", am L2 -54". The moisture <br />samples will be taken approximately 24 hours after an irri- <br />gation has been applied from the plots in which tensiometers <br />have been installed. <br />2. !!lilting point determinations. <br />The wilting point will be detemined on a portion of the <br />sample used to determine field capacity by growing a sunflower <br />in a can until it is permanently wilted. <br /> <br />C ~-~'}5~0 <br />.i '~_ ......-1...., v..... <br /> <br />-10- <br />
