<br />The Colorado River has been and for awhile is desrined To be a river
<br />of conflict. It is the dominant river system in the southwestern comer
<br />of the nation, The area it drains (242,000 square miles in the United
<br />States) is approximately one.twelfth of the continental United States,
<br />It begins its 1,400 mile run to the sea from two primary sources-the
<br />Green River, which originates in the Laramie range in southeastern
<br />Wyoming, and the Colorado River, which originates in the Rocky
<br />Mountains of Colorado. The two join in southeastern Utah, a short
<br />distance above Lake Powell, It is a mighty natural and an economic
<br />force, but there is not enough water to meet all of the competing
<br />demands, As the river approaches full development, the confiic(S will
<br />intensify, The purpose of this paper is to examine the operation of
<br />the river in the event of prolonged drought,
