Andrus, Colorado State Director of the BLM,

this first step of setting up equitable and acceptable guidelines and

methods for the inventory process will be the key for combining sound

land management with identifying the wilderness resource. Interim

management during the study period will be a focal point throughout
the development of this process while still adhering to the mandates
of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act, the Wilderness Act,
and the needs of the people.
Copies of the draft procedures are available at all State and
District BLM Offices.

- 30 -
