Enclosed is the progress report of the Holly project for August.
As you will note, we are delaying the work on the Holly Drain
until we have a signed contract and we are fast running out of
time when cold weather is not a factor. I will authorize restart
of the cleaning as soon as I am notified that we have a signed
contract.

We are winding down the "99" growing season and will completed
harvest on all of the demonstration sites by the last of October.
During October or early November, we will be conducting salinity
mapping on the Paul Frank center pivot site to see if the method
of application, LDN sprinklers or drag hoses, show any effect on
soil salinity.

I have plans to meet with the NE Prowers SCD board in the near
future to set up a workshop for the Holly area on salinity and
BMP's and to report the results from the 1998 and 1999 crop and
irrigation demonstration work.

Holly proj t to keep you informed.
