SECTION V. RECOMMENDATIONS

The following recommendations developed by the Governor's Advisory Commit-
tee are discussed in sequential order with state level recommendations ad-
dressed first. The recommendations on housing are grouped separately.

I. Boom Town Designation Standard

Deve lop a system and cri teria for iden tifying areas like ly to ex-
perience adverse short term socia-economic impacts from energy
deve lopment,

There is need for a system to identify communities or areas likely to
experience socio-economic impacts from energy development. Once identi-
fied, such areas would then become eligible for special financial and
technical assistance as outlined later in this section. The criteria
listed here should be viewed as suggested guidelines. It is not intended
that a community would need to meet them all. A final designation stand-
ard should be developed within the appropriate agency or agencies of state
government.

04.!O
