Federal salinity cost share funds to be adainistered by ASCS
(with 30 percent reimbursement from the Basin Funds subject to P.L.
98-569).

~ Funds utilized by SCS and Extension Service to provide technical
assistance to casc participants and for monitoring and education
activities.

~ The Council supports this federal/state/private
cogeneration/salinity control project. As payment for' salt
reduction is required, it is contemplated to be made from
Reclamation's operation and maintenance budget. Additional
operation and maintenance line item funding will be required in the
future. "

T.I The council recognizes that the Uinta, unit is not yet
authorized, but understands that the Reclamation will be seeking
authorization in the near future. Hence, additional funding will
be needed to construct this unit in future years.

.'~"

Conclusion

The council wishes to express its appreciation for the
opportunity to submit its cODllllents and suggestions to the federal
agencies. The Council is generally pleased with the interagency
efforts put forth in FY 1989, and looks forward to further success
in the coming year.

10

-&i<

1:
