Changes in climatic conditions between the

1941-1963 and the 1964-l981 periods are not evident.

It appears to the author that divisional calls have

decreased in severity due to the increasingly significant intro-

duction of transmountain diversions and consumptive use transfer$

of water from south park to the Metropolitan Denver area.

One cannot attribute the change in calls solely to impor-

tations of transmountain waters from the Roberts Tunnel. While

the Roberts Tunnel importations contributed some 50,000 acre-fee,t

per year to the South platte River Basin, the other .Metro

Contributions. increased in the 1964-l98l period by almost 25,OOp

acre-feet annually over the earlier period.

SOME ADDIfIONAL QUESTIONS

Based on the demonstrated capabilities of computer analysis,

of river call data by the program STAPRI and the other programs

described in the Appendix, answers to many of the following

questions may be obtained.

o Are the .new. call patterns likely to endure?

o IS the pronounced shift in call patterns in the late-

irrigation season months of september and October due to

d~layed return flow from urban lawn and landscape

iorrigation?

o I'S there now water, ~, new water, available for

a~propriation and diversion directly from the South

~latte River downstream from the Metropolitan Denver

-19-

.'0.,;\;:",.;.

" .~

i;

,~

.,,-'

~i,l
~~

/:
