Pursue pumping regimes that reduce adverse flow effects on boating opportunities within the <br />Animas River when possible. <br /> <br />., Alter Durango Pumping Plant pumping regimes during periods of competitive events. <br /> <br />3. Acquire or provide funding (not to exceed $500,000) for the acquisition of public access at a <br />minimum of two points on the Animas River between the High Bridge and Basin Creek to reduce <br />effects to anglers on the Animas River. <br /> <br />Socioeconomics <br /> <br />No environmental commitments are made for socioeconomic resources. <br /> <br />Land Use <br /> <br />No environmental commitments are made for land use resources. <br /> <br />Hazardous Materials <br /> <br />I. Ensure that the Durango Pumping Plant is designed to minimize the disturbance of <br />contaminated materials. Reclamation will also ensure that procedures will be developed for <br />radiological monitoring of excavated soils and groundwater encountered and that remedial <br />procedures are planned in advance to counteract the potential for human exposure and for the <br />prevention of contaminated groundwater release from the construction site. <br /> <br />2. Ensure that all federal and state requirements pertaining to the management and handling of <br />hazardous materials, mixed wastes and radioactive waste are followed and will include those <br />requirements within construction contract language inclusive of construction safety and <br />environmental compliance. <br /> <br />8 <br />
