Stor~ and flood <br />~atches and w3rnlngs isslled by the National Weather Service should <br />alert emergency organizations to the potential for debris flow <br />;'Hoblellls and trigger incre:J.sed surveillance and other pre;J3redness <br />activities. The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator wlll elert the <br />Board of Commissioners of any reported debris E10h's 2.-1d dar.l2ges, <br />and keep them informed of the situatlon. The Coord,natOr will <br />naintain communications with CIty officials to respond to requests <br />i.or emergency assistance frora the County. The Coorc:!..n2.tor '...;ill <br />alert heads of departrnents/organizations of a possible partlal or <br />total activution of the EDC. Initial eval~ations of the potential <br />threat to life and property should consider potential inundation <br />areas and access problems, warrling and evacuation requirements, <br />temjJorary shelters 311d safe areas and future resource <br />requirements. <br /> <br />1. Recovery Short-teri':l recovery activities lnclude eonergerlcy <br />repairs and restoration of essential public services and <br />fac~lities, provlsion of emergency services (health, food, <br />shelter, clothing) to disaster victims, debris clearance, damo.ge <br />aSSCSSll1ents and all actions to return the community to normal. <br />Long terrn recovery includes the provision of State/Federal <br />dIsaster assistance, revisiollS to emer3ency plans and redllclng the <br />vulnerability of citizens to future debris flow events through the <br />implementation of structural and non.-structural hazard mItigation <br />solutions. <br /> <br />VI.
