Valantine, I'm <br /> <br />3 the Assistant Chief Engineer of the Colorado River Board of <br /> <br />4 California, address: Rome 8103, 107 South Broadway, Los Angele <br /> <br />5 California. <br /> <br />6 I have a letter here signed by the Chief Enginee~ <br /> <br />7 of the Colorado River Board which presents the Boards formal <br /> <br />r <br />, <br />" <br />, <br /> <br />8 comments and the Chief Engineer ask me to attend the meeting <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />9 tonight, and give you some high-lights and present them to you. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />The Colorado River Board of California, is the <br /> <br />; <br /> <br />11 California State Agency that has been delegated by the LegiSa- <br /> <br />12 ture, to represent Californias rights and intentions in the <br /> <br />rl <br /> <br />13 Colorado River. Rights of not only the State itself, but also <br /> <br />14 the States Agencies, and also the States citizens. <br /> <br />f.' : <br /> <br />15 As such, the Board is interested in and concerned in <br /> <br />16 all of the aspectes of the natural resources of the Colorado <br /> <br />17 River to California, <br /> <br />~I <br /> <br />18 The hydroelectric power generated by the rivers water <br /> <br />19 is a reliable source of peaking power for million~ of Californi <br /> <br />20 residences, and especially in these days of oil shortage, it's <br /> <br />21 energy, of course, is of estimable value. <br /> <br />22 And Southern Californias also enjoys ~e recreation- <br /> <br />23 al attractions which unique, are unique in having such value. <br /> <br />24 All river and lakes in an area of environment, and the major <br /> <br />25 dams, of course, provide significant flood control benefits to <br /> <br />. <br />
