<br />9 <br /> <br />~' <br />) <br />, <br />, <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />of acceptable amendments, we believe the DOW proposal to reclaim <br />floodplain ponds along the Colorado River could be a major <br />recovery effort for endangered fishes. However, if the proposal <br />is only partially implemented, underfunded, or DOW is unable to <br />obtain permission to renovate and manage the vast majority of the <br />private ponds, the effort will not benefit endangered species. <br />Continued sampling of mainstream fishes (FWS) is also vital to <br />evaluation of the success of this effort, and must be maintained. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />We thank FWS and DOW for this opportunity to evaluate their <br />proposals, If there are questions, please feel free to contact <br />us. <br />
