Data for COLO-
RADO are given in Parts 6,7,8, and 9. Beginning with 1961, daily streamflow
records have been publ ished annually, on a State basis, as U.S. Geological
Survey open-fi Ie reports, "Water Resources Data for Colorado, Part 1. Surface
Water Records."

Data on qual ity of surface water are given in the U.S. Geological Survey
Water-Supply Paper series "Qual ity of Surface Waters of the United States,"
which is released in an annual series in numbered parts as determined by
natural drainage basins. Data for COLORADO are in Parts 6, 7, 8, and 9.
Beginning with the 1964 water year, these data also are being publ ished an-
nually, on a State basis, as U,S. Geological Survey open-file reports, "Water
Resources Data for Colorado, Part 2. Water Qual ity Records." Another annual
Water-Supply Paper series, which was publ ished until 1966, is "Qual ity of
Surface Waters for Irrigation, Western United States,"

DURATION DATA

Flow duration and specific-conductance duration were run for the seven
stations for the entire period of record. Where greater than 20 percent of
this specific-conductance data for any 1 year is missing, estimates of the
missing data were made using the specific conductance versus discharge re-
gression.

SALT-LOAD COMPUTATIONS

The annual salt loadings in streamflow in and out of Grand Valley have
been computed by multiplying the discharge-weighted annual concentration, in
tons per acre-foot, by the annual flow, in acre-feet, for the several inflow
and outflow stations. The discharge-weighted annual concentration, in tons
per acre-foot, was determined by several alternate methods as follows:

4
