By selecting means for disposal of blowdown water that minimize <br /> <br />the loss of water to the river system, it is possible to remove the <br />salts with only a minimal loss of water to the river's system. <br />7. The adoption of a policy of not returning blowdown water to the <br /> <br />river system is consistent with the policy adopted by the Department <br /> <br />of the Interior and the State of Nevada with regard to the l'lohave <br /> <br />Generating Station. <br /> <br />Based on these conclusions, it is recommended that the Depart- <br />ment of the Interior, the Arizona State Water Quality Control Council, <br />and the participants in the Navajo Generating Station concur on a <br />method of handling the station's blowdown water that will prevent <br />the salts contained therein from entering the Colorado River System. <br /> <br />-9- <br />
