<br />GUNNISON RIVER SUBBASIN REPORTS <br /> <br />To facilitate the analysis and presentation of data, the GUnnison Riv~r <br />Basin was divided into five subbasins. These subbasins were delineated <br />because of the nature of their individual water and related land resource <br />problems. Soils, vegetation, water supply, present water use, economic <br />develO]llIleot, aod potentlal water development possU,ilities and related ...ater <br />requirements are discussed for each of the subbasins. The subbasins are <br />delineated on the proj~ct location map following page 24 and are described <br />as fa llaws : <br /> <br />Upper Gunnison Subbasin <br /> <br />This subbasin includ~s the arainage area of <br />the Gunnison Tunnel midway in Black Canyon. <br />Taylor, East and Lake Fork Rivers, Cebolla, <br />Ohio Creeks. <br /> <br />the Upper Guradson River above <br />Majer streams include the <br />Cochetopa, Tomichi, Quarts and <br /> <br />Smith Fork-Crystal Subbasin <br /> <br />This subbasin includes the drainage area of the 51.lith Fork, Iron and CryctaJ. <br />Creeks. <br /> <br />North Fork Subbasin <br /> <br />The drainage area of th2 Worth Fork of the Gunnison River and tributaries, <br />and Leroux, ,Currant, Surface and Tongue Creeks, are included in this sub- <br />basin. <br /> <br />UnC(JIDpahp;re Subbasin <br /> <br />The drainage area of ehe Uncawpahgre River and tributaries, and the drainage <br />area of Roubideau Creek, are included in this subbasin. <br /> <br />Whitewater Subbasi~ <br /> <br />The drainage' areas of Escalante, Dominiguez, Northeast, Whitewater and Kahnah <br />Creeks are included in this subbasin. <br /> <br />- 24 - <br />
