<br /><:") <br />C.) <br />~ <br />o <br />~ <br />w <br /> <br />FOREWORD <br /> <br />This report summarizes the 36th year of operation and activities <br />of the Arkansas-White-Red Basins Interagency Committee and <br />highlights of the committee's operations during the year October <br />1, 1990, through September 30, 1991. Further detail is included <br />in the recorded minutes, appendixes, and Five Minute Activity <br />Report. Throughout this report, the Arkansas-White-Red Basins <br />Interagency Committee is. referred to as the AWRBIAC, the <br />Committee, or the AWR Committee. Activities of the AWRBIAC <br />during the year were directed toward: <br /> <br />1. providing, at the regional level, improvements of <br />coordination of activities in the field of water and related <br />land resources. <br /> <br />2. providing a means by which interagency problems in this <br />field may be resolved. <br /> <br />3. developing program interest sessions at regularly scheduled <br />AWR Committee meetings, thereby providing current <br />information relative to changes in law or policy in the <br />field of water resources development. <br /> <br />4. investigating questions on preparing a Master Plan for the <br />region. Specific points of investigations included: types <br />of plans being used, issues that could be addressed, <br />organization structures, and funding mechanisms. <br /> <br />5. promoting standing committee activity within the AWRBIAC in <br />the areas of comprehensive planning, exchange of program <br />information, and environmental resources. <br /> <br />5. keeping abreast of policy developments in river basin <br />planning. <br /> <br />The AWRBIAC Charter and Articles of Organization and Procedures <br />are included in Appendix 4.
