Revisions are awaiting action <br />on proposed legislation to reallocate up to an additional 300,000 ac - ft of <br />hydropower storage to water supply and receipt of additional study funds. <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION: (Tn) Survey-scope study to determine whether it would be <br />advisable to modify the existing Denison Dam (Lake Texoma) project to include <br />recreation, irrigation, water quality control, municipal and industrial water <br />supply, and other purposes, in addition to the authorized purposes for which <br />it is being operated and maintained. <br /> <br />SPONSOR: Oklahoma Water Resources Board and city of Sherman, Texas. <br /> <br />47, Red River and Tributaries above Denison Dam, OK & TX <br />STATUS: Plan of survey has been completed. Ini tial public hearings were <br />held in Childress, Texas and Lawton, Oklahoma, on 5 November and 3 December <br />1969. After a 2-year lapse in funding, a reconnaissance study on the Pease <br />River was completed in November 1980. Further study of the Pease River has <br />been deferred because of a lack of economic justification. Reconnaissance <br />reports on the North Fork of the Red River below Altus Dam and on Rush Creek <br />are scheduled for completion in FY 81. <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION: (Tn) A survey-scope study to investigate the problems and <br />needs of the basin and determine the economic and engineering feasibility for <br />development of the area's water annd related resources. <br /> <br />SPONSOR: None at this time. <br /> <br />147 <br />
