41, Denison Dam (Lake Texoma), OK & TX
STATUS: The survey report was reviewed by Southwestern Division and returned
to Tulsa District in August 1983 for revision. Revisions are awaiting action
on proposed legislation to reallocate up to an additional 300,000 ac - ft of
hydropower storage to water supply and receipt of additional study funds.

DESCRIPTION: (Tn) Survey-scope study to determine whether it would be
advisable to modify the existing Denison Dam (Lake Texoma) project to include
recreation, irrigation, water quality control, municipal and industrial water
supply, and other purposes, in addition to the authorized purposes for which
it is being operated and maintained.

SPONSOR: Oklahoma Water Resources Board and city of Sherman, Texas.

47, Red River and Tributaries above Denison Dam, OK & TX
STATUS: Plan of survey has been completed. Ini tial public hearings were
held in Childress, Texas and Lawton, Oklahoma, on 5 November and 3 December
1969. After a 2-year lapse in funding, a reconnaissance study on the Pease
River was completed in November 1980. Further study of the Pease River has
been deferred because of a lack of economic justification. Reconnaissance
reports on the North Fork of the Red River below Altus Dam and on Rush Creek
are scheduled for completion in FY 81.

DESCRIPTION: (Tn) A survey-scope study to investigate the problems and
needs of the basin and determine the economic and engineering feasibility for
development of the area's water annd related resources.
