Geological Survey has been quite active over the years on <br />water resource investigations in the South Platte River basin from Denver to <br />the state 1 ine. <br />After the drought of the middle 50's, the U.S.G.S. started a basic data <br />collection program to provide a data base for evaluating the groundwater <br />resources and its interaction with the surface water in the South Platte <br />River Valley; The U.S.G.S. has published numerous reports in cooperation <br />with various state governmental agencies on the hydrology and groundwater <br />resources of the River Valley. A listing of these publications is included <br />in the selected reference section of this report. <br />Colorado State University has also been involved in several water resourte <br />studies in tHe South Platte Valley, and a recent dissertation published in <br />1974 is also .indicated in the section on selected references (Reference 10). <br />The past studies, reports and basic data from the U.S.G.S., the State <br />Division of Water Resources, and local ditch companies was used to the fullest <br />extent deemed reasonable and applicable to this Study.
