<br />""""') <br /> <br />-, <br />, , <br /> <br />10-. <br /> <br />Soldier Canyon Darn and extends southeasterly to existing irriga- <br />tion facilitieso <br /> <br />-..J <br />..;..'-. <br /> <br />Poudre Supply Canal, under construction north of Horsetooth <br />Reservoir, leads from the reservoir outlet at Horsetooth Dam and <br />extends north approximately 5,,2 miles to the Cache la Poudre River" <br />This canal is designed to carry 1,500 cfs of water from the res- <br />ervoir to a bifurcation works located on,Lewstone Creek" From <br />this point the entire flow may be directed onward to the river or <br />a portion of the water may be diverted to the pronosed Windsor <br />Supply Canal 0 <br /> <br />North Poudre Supnly r,anal will carry supplemental water to <br />lands currently irrigated from the North Fork of the Cache la <br />Poudre River by means of the existing North Poudre Ditcho Current <br />plans contemplate the construction of a diversion headworks on the <br />Cache la Poudre River, about 14 miles northwest of Fort Collins, <br />and an II-mile long canal leading to the existing ditch at a point <br />located about 9 miles northwest of the town" This canal will have <br />a capacity of 250 cfs and will require the construction of a siphon <br />and three tunnels" <br /> <br />Power Transmission System <br /> <br />Transmission Systemo--In addition to the construction of <br />hydroelectric plants and the production of energy from project <br />operation, the power development phase of the project plan includes <br />the delivery of salable energy to preference customers in the <br />market area" To assure the availability of this energy at public- <br />owned power and distribution systems, a network system of trans- <br />mission lines and substations is being constructed to connect the <br />various power plants of the prQject with load centers serving <br />municipalities, communities, and RoE"A. cooperative systems in <br />Colorado and with other projects located in Colorado, wyoming, and <br />Nebraska" <br /> <br />Transmission system facilities, completed or under construc- <br />tion, include aoproXLmately 500 miles of l15,000-volt circuit and <br />associated substations" These facilities include the following <br />linesg Green Mountain-Dillon; Green Mountain-Oak Creek; Estes- <br />Marys Lake; Estes-Flatiron-Greeley-Brush-~terling, with extensions <br />to Wiggins and Prospect Valley; Wiggins-Hoyt; Brush-Yuma-Wray; <br />Flatiron-Leyner-Brighton; Beaver Creek-Limon; Pole Hill-Flatiron; <br />Big Thompson-Flatiron, and Salida-Gunnison, reached through facili- <br />ties of the Public Service Company of Colorado" There are also <br />approximately 130 circuit-miles of 69,000-volt transmission lines <br />which include Green Mountain-Granby Pumping Plant; Granby Pumping <br />Plant-Estes which includes 69,000-volt, gas-insulated submarine <br />cable through the Alva Bo Adams Tunnel; extension to Willow Creek <br />Pumping Plant, and the Sterling-Holyoke line" <br /> <br />25 <br />
