I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

000836

E - DESIGNS & SPEOIFIOATIONS

Based on minimum water requirement studies, as summarized
under "Water Requirement", and in accordance with prudent
engineering proceedures it is recommended that every effort be
made to construct the diversion, regulation and transmission
features of the project to full capacity. Oonsidering the
lcss-than-desired contract sign-up and the elimination of the
American Gilsonite Oompany as a large industrial user, it is
recommended that the distribution system and mains, within
reasonable limits, be designed in accordance with water requirp.-
ment studies as summarized in this supplementary report.
Plates VII-I and VII-II, as shown in the Engineering Report,
show the general location of the entire system, as revised and
modified to reflect changed conditions.

In general, materials, supplies, equipment and structures
will be in accordance with descriptions contained in the
"Preliminary Engineering Report" of Hay 1960.

Final designs and specifications on the diversion, regula-
tion and transmission facilities of the system are approaching
completion, in accordance with contract requirements.
Quantities and costs, based on these designs, are incorporated
into cost estimates. Additional preliminary work has been done
to revise other project costs in accordance with changed plans
and condi tions.

A detailed cost schedule showing the estimated cost of
the proposed ute Domestic Water System, as modified, is shown
on Oost Schedule No.1.

If it is the decision of the Board of Directors of the
ute Water Oonservancy District, their financial advisors and
potential lending agencies, that the predictions contained in
the Engineering Report prepared by O. H. Hoper and Associates
is realistic, an adequate system can be constructed based on
that assumption. The system will have a capacity of approxi-
mately 25% of full capacity. The estimated cost will be
approximately 65% of a full capacity system. The estimated
cost of the system as reduced from diversion point to all
delivery areas is as shown in Oost Schedule No.2.

The maps shown on Plate VII-I and Plate VII-II, in the
Engineering Report, apply as far as pipeline and appurtenant
structure locations ar~ concerned.

- 31 -

; .;,
,~-_ _,,,-:0
.
,_ -L_" ~_._J ,~
