0410

Construction of the proposed Narrows Reservoir will change the

CONCLUSIONS

ground-water regime of the South Platte River valley. The principal

effects of the proposed reservoir on the ground-water system will be an

~

increase in the' water-table altitude in the alluvial aquifer and a

redistribution of ground-water discharge to the South Platte River.

Water-level changes will occur in the aquifer between Fort Morgan and

the proposed dam. Ground-water discharge will be decreased at the

reservoir site and increased downstream from the proposed reservoir.

~ere will be no net loss of water from the proposed reservoir to the

aquifer under steady-state conditions. Flow from the proposed reservoir

to the aquifer will occur on the south side of the proposed reservoir

just upstream from the proposed dam. However, elsewhere along the

proposed reservoir, ground-water flow will be to the proposed reservoir.

No significant change in the ground-water system will occur downstream

from Fort Morgan.

3c
