<br />00501 <br /> <br />PROJECT TITLE AND ID: m.2. PROGRAMMATIC AGREEMENT: Grand Canyon and Glen <br />Canyon Treatment Plans <br /> <br />aatiOnale/Problem Statement: In consultation with Grand Canyon NPS and the Hualapai Tribe, begin <br />implementation of a treatment plan for the cultural resources of Grand Canyon based upon a treatment <br />plan design completed with FY2005 funding. Treatment of individual properties may include additional <br />documentation/recordation, in situ preservation measures or full data recovery. <br /> <br />It is anticipated that the bulk of development and implementation of the Glen Canyon treatment plan will <br />be completed in FY2005. Additional funds may be required in FY2006 to finish the reporting task. <br /> <br />Administration of Glen Canyon and Grand Canyon cultural resource monitoring will be transferred to <br />GCMRC in FY2006. Funding for FY2006 identified in the following table is for implementation of the <br />treatment plans only. <br /> <br />Inteeration: Not applicable. <br /> <br />Expected Products: Re-evaluations of all affected Glen and Grand Canyon properties for eligibility to <br />the National Register of Historic Places. Mitigation of effects as detennined by the treatment plans. <br />Detailed and comprehensive reports on consultant activities, results and recommendations. <br /> <br />Recommended Approach: Evaluation, nature and extent testing, application of mitigative measures up <br />to and including total data recovery, following the Secretary of the Interior Standards and Guidelines for <br />Historic Preservation and guidance of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. <br /> <br />L Ongoing. <br /> <br />External Project Awards: Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) agreements for Grand Canyon. <br />Continuation of the extant cooperative agreement for Glen Canyon. <br /> <br />Project Accomplishments: The development of the Glen Canyon treatment plan will begin in March, <br />2005, followed by treatment plan implementation. A CESU agreement will be awarded in FY2005 for <br />the Grand Canyon treatment plan with work to begin in that year. Implementation of that plan will be <br />accomplished under a continuation of that same CESU agreement with additional CESU cooperators as <br />may be required. <br /> <br />Schedule: The schedule is based on the fiscal year. <br /> <br />Budeet: Treatment plan implementation is estimated at $250,000 for Grand Canyon. $20,000 will be <br />reserved to complete the Glen Canyon implementation. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />19 <br />
