Recreation and fish and wi Idl ife operation, maintenance and <br />replacement would be the responsibi lity of a non-federal entity. <br /> <br />Local Interest and Support <br /> <br />No legal sponsoring district has been formed. <br />Local interest has been shown for the flood prevention and control associated with this <br />project but interest in other functions is not widely evident. <br /> <br />Existinq Resource Development in the Area <br /> <br />Water resource development is rather I imited in this area. <br />developed. <br />A few flOOd-protection faci I ities have been developed in this area. <br />for local protection and consist mostly of channel straightening and some <br />towns. <br /> <br />No project irrigation has been <br /> <br />Existing works are <br />levee work around <br /> <br />Effect on Water Supply in Proiect Area <br /> <br />This project should not affect municipal and domestic water supplies as private, publ ic, <br />and industrial water requirements are now adequately served by pumping from ground water aquifers <br />and should continue to be met in the future. <br />Project operation would provide for maintenance of natural stream flows sufficient to <br />meet al I existing water rights downstream. <br />The decrease in stream flo\~s due to project water depletions may reduce the stream's <br />capacity to assimi late wastes and adversely affect the fishery.
