Ddtd required to accomplish
this objective are reservoir outflow ddtd, content ddtd,
and upstredm flow data to check criticdl inflows for
stordge. Actual inflows require computation dS theoretical
inflows which dre nothing more thdn d redsbndble
representation of the dctual relationshIps between
reservoir inflow, outflows, and chdnye in stordge occurring
ddlly.

Program Description:

Given the operdting criterid dnd hlstoricdl ddtd regdrdillg
the operation of John Mdrtln Reservoir, this progrdm
simulates the historical operation as it would have been
under the operating criteria. The simuidted data and
historical ddtd as end of the day contents are
slmultdneously plotted on one sheet for comparison.

Program Useage:

In 1980, the Arkansas River Compdct Administrdtion ddopted
a stordge resolution which set forth the operdting criterid
for John Mdrtin Reservoir. Entities upstredm of the
reservoir hdve expressed some concern thdt these new
operdLing C'riLerlJ wi.ll result in dO edrLlef Lhdll usudl
emptying of the reservoir's conservdtion pool dnd thereby
allow dn earlier thdn usudl cdll by downstredm senior wdter
rights for the pdssdge of river wdter past the upstream
entities holding more junior wdter right,;. As the
operdting criterid were set forth to emuldte the historicdl
operdtion1 of the reservoir, the comparison of the
historicdl operdtion of the reservoir with that which
would hdve occurred under the new operdting criterid should
reveal any differences in the outcome of the operdtion.
The use of this progrdm is therefore evolutionary in thdt
the simulation,; will point out dny inadequdcies in dndlar
-- 'PT 0 b.l-t:111 s-.w i-!:"h -bh e-o'p e r'd.t~bl g-- eT-i !:"er id ~ -f-u'r t-h er-,;hn u hl t hYll' ~---
