INTRODUCTION - In order to facilitate progress on the program of <br /> <br /> <br />water and related land resources development in the Missouri River Basin, <br /> <br /> <br />the Missouri Bssin Inter-Agency Committee was established March 29, 1945 by <br /> <br /> <br />the Federal Inter-Agency River Basin Committee to implement the policies <br /> <br /> <br />and purposes of the Federal Inter-Agency agreement, dated December 29, 1943. <br /> <br /> <br />A new Federal Inter-Agency agreement on coordination of water and related <br /> <br /> <br />land resources activities was approved by the President on May 26, 1954. <br /> <br /> <br />The Charter of the Missouri Basin Inter-Agency Committee is accordingly <br /> <br /> <br />herein revised to be in consonance with t he new Federal Inter-Agency <br /> <br /> <br />agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />2. PURPOSE - It is the purpose of this agreement to provide in the <br /> <br /> <br />~tssouri River region improved facilities and procedures for the coordi- <br /> <br /> <br />nation of the policies, progr8a8snd activities of the Departments of the <br /> <br /> <br />Interior: Commerce: Labor; Agriculture;;..Hi!alth, Education, and Welfare; <br /> <br /> <br />and the Army; the Federal Power Commission; and the States in the field of <br /> <br /> <br />water and related land resources investigation, planning, construction, <br /> <br /> <br />operation, and maintenance; to provide means by which conflicts may be <br /> <br /> <br />resolved; and to provide procedures for coordination of their interests <br /> <br /> <br />with those of other Federal, local governmental, and private agencies in <br /> <br /> <br />the water and related land resources field. <br /> <br /> <br />3. ESTABLISHMENT- <br /> <br /> <br />(a) For this purpose there is established s Missouri Basin Inter- <br /> <br /> <br />Agency Committee to be comprised of representatives of the Departments of <br /> <br /> <br />the Interior: Commerce; Labor: Agriculture; Health, Education, and <br /> <br />.1 <br />
