<br />PREFACE <br /> <br />!'\) <br />.i."" <br />r"J <br /> <br />The Colorado River Salinity Control Program (CRSC) is authorized by <br />Section 202(c) of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Act, ~s ~m~nrl~~ <br />(43 D.S.C. 1592). <br /> <br />The CRSC provides financial and tAchnical assistanc~ to identify salt ~OlJrc~ <br />areas to the Colorado River Rasin; to install conservation practices to red lIce <br />salinity levels in the Colorado River: to carry out r<'=!seilrch, edlJc<3tion, -':loci <br />dpmonstration 'activitLPs and monitorin~ and evallJation activitias. <br /> <br />The CRSC is authorized in the States of ~rizona, ~aliFornia, Colorado, ~evada, <br />New ~exico, ITtah, and Wyoming. Jlowever, Salinity ~eduction Practices (SQP.s) <br />have only 1)een inst;,1l1ed in' Colorado. Iltah. .'lnri ',.Jyomin~. Thf' pr0gram wi II ~p <br />expanded to include the other States in futllre y~ars. The program applies to <br />lands that ~re in an identified salt SOllrce area, privately 0wned or <br />controlled land, T.ndian tribal land, irrigation riistrict 'Jr company lanr:l, '3Jlri <br />State and 10Co11 government l<lnd. <br /> <br />The CRse is administered cooperatively by the Agric1Jltural Stabilization and <br />eonserv~tion Service CASeS),. Extension Service CES), and the Soil ConserV8.ti0r1 <br />Service CSCS) of the fJ. S. Department of ~gricl11tllre. Technic~1 assistance is <br />provided by the SCS and the ES. <br /> <br />Other agencies involved in the CRSC are: The AgriclJltural Research Servic~, <br />Farmers Home Administration, Bureau of Reclamation, and ~ish and Wildlife <br />agencies.
