The Secretary serves as Chairman of the <br />Administrative Committee, which is responsible for AWRBIAC <br />meeting arrangements and dissemination of program materials. <br /> <br />In accordance with the Articles of Organization and Procedure. <br />problems and business of AWRBIAC, either technical or ~eneral <br />in nature, which require continuing but more detailed <br />consideration than can be given by the AWR Committee as a <br />whole. are referred to appropriate standing committees. <br />Active standing committees are the standing committees on <br />Exchange of Program Information, and Environmental Resources. <br />The overall functional charges to these committees are listed <br />in Appendix 1. <br /> <br />Ad hoc committees may be appointed on a short-term basis to <br />deal with special transitory technical policy problems. An ad <br />hoc committee on the 1975 Assessment was formed at the April <br />1972 meeting and was composed of members from each State and <br />Federal agency. The ad hoc committee on the 1975 Assessment <br />was given standing committee status as the Comprehensive <br />Planning Committee in anticipation of continuing activity. <br /> <br />(') AWRBIAC as used herein does not refer to the original <br />Arkansas-White-Red Basins Inter-Agency Committee which <br />was established by Presidential directive in 1950 and <br />dissolved in June 1955. <br />
