<br />€HQ2' <br /> <br />1 <br />of 1868. <br /> <br />This treaty placed the boundaries of the ute Reser- <br /> <br />vat ion as follows: Beginning at the Southern boundary of <br /> <br />Colorado on the 107th meridian it went north on that <br /> <br />meridian to a point 15 miles north of the 40th parallel <br /> <br />and then west to the Colorado Territory boundary, then <br /> <br />south to the southern boundary following the southern <br /> <br />boundary to the place of beginning. These boundaries <br />2 <br />embraced a territory estimated to be 15.120,000 acres. <br /> <br />The treaty provided for the establishing of new <br /> <br />agencies and that all agents must live at the agency over <br /> <br />which they had control. provisions were also made for <br /> <br />aiding the Indians to be self supporting.
