Table 2 and Exhibit 3 depict the monthly operation of the reservoir <br />during water year 2001. <br /> <br />B. West Slooe Collection Svstem and Proiect Diversions <br /> <br />The import of Project water through the Boustead Tunnel began on April 26, 2001, and <br />concluded on August 23,2001. The daily discharge record forthe diversion structures is <br />included as Appendix D. A total of 45,300 acre-feet was imported during the 2001 water <br />year, which was 70 percent of average. There was no Busk-Ivanhoe water imported <br />through the Boustead Tunnel. The maximum mean daily import was 743 ft'/s on June 2, <br />2001. The most probable forecasts for the first of February, March, April, and May were <br />48,600 acre-feet, 46,600 acre-feet, 46,100 acre-feet, and 52,800 acre-feet, respectively. <br /> <br />The total imports for the water year, the accumulated imports to the Arkansas River, the <br />water used for the Twin Lakes Reservoir and Canal Company exchange, and the import <br />water available for allocations by the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District, <br />are shown on Table 5. The 30 years of accumulated imports totallA87,500 acre-feet, <br />for an average of 49,583 acre-feet per year. A plot of the Boustead Tunnel imports <br />during water year 2001 is shown on Exhibit 5. <br /> <br />C. Twin Lakes Reservoir and Canal Comoanv/FrvinQoan-Arkansas Proiect <br />ExchanQe <br /> <br />The Bureau of Reclamation is obligated to maintain minimum streamflows in the Roaring <br />Fork River by the authorizing legislation of the Project. This is accomplished through an <br />exchange of water with the Twin Lakes Reservoir and Canal Company. On October I, <br />2000, the company began bypassing water into the Roaring Fork River on the West Slope <br />in exchange for Project water stored in Twin Lakes on the East Slope. The exchange was <br />performed per the operating criteria as shown in Appendix C. The total amount of the <br />exchange at Twin Lakes Reservoir was 2,146 acre-feet. The monthly summary of the <br />exchange is also shown in Appendix C. <br /> <br />D. Turauoise Lake <br /> <br />On September 30,2000, there were 110,230 acre-feet (elevation 9858.47 feet) of water <br />stored in Turquoise Lake, which was 113 percent of average. Releases to Twin Lakes <br />through the Mt. Elbert Conduit drafted Turquoise Lake to 49,114 acre-feet (elevation <br />9817.97 feet), the lowest storage of the water year, by March 16, 2001. There were <br />106,462 acre-feet (elevation 9856.21 feet) of water in storage at the end of the water <br />year, which was 109 percent of average. <br /> <br />6 <br />
