Accordipg to the Bonneville Power Administration
(BPA), the reservoirs in the Pacific Northwest will be
about 70 perbent full on July 31, the date which is the
traditional end of the spring runoff. This will mean a
deficiency of about 12 million acre-feet of storage or
13,500 GWh, of' equivalent energy. Other estimates range to
15,000 GWh. : This deficiency is about 10 percent of the
It is anticipated that this summer there will be no
export over t;he in terties to the California utili ties. By
comparison, in 1975 the Bonneville system exported over
9,000 GWh of honfirm energy to California.
