The fee land was held in
reserve at an estimated tonnage of
290,000 tons; however, all but about
15 acres was taken in Chatfield project,
and reportedly the gravel has now been
removed and stockpiled. Fifty-six acres
of leased land excavated by 1958.

Further Remarks: Mr. Harry Weber confirmed that the average
production on the leased operation since 1956 has been perhaps
500,060 tons. Of this quantity, the use has been approximately
as follows:

25% 3-inch rock used for road ballast
25% l~-inch rock used for road subgrade
25% 3/4-inch rock used for asphalt paving mix and road base
25% Washed concrete aggregate and reject.

Costs:

Fixed: Crushing, spreading.
Variable: Ton-mile cost up to 5 miles,
$0.06 per ton-mile. Rate has been stable
for about past ten years until 1969.
Increases in prices and ton-mile costs
are anticipated.

-lOG-
