When this <br />market was exhausted. the pit was considered by Kiewit to be <br />too far distant from remaining markets to be of much value. <br />Some of the material removed may have come from 40 acres of <br />the ownership to the north. which was also leased to Kiewit <br />at $0.07 per ton royalty. <br /> <br />According to the geologic report prepared for the <br />owner-optionee. Colsman. there is approximately another <br />3.3 million tons of sand and gravel which can be mined by <br />both wet and dry methods. and another 2.2 million tons of <br />gravelly and silty sand which might have some slight sale <br />value as selective borrow. About 7 feet of overburden will <br />have to be stripped from the material of the dry operation. <br /> <br />-6G- <br />
