A wj,de variety of big and small game <br /> <br />thrive here due to the environment afforded them. Hatcheries and <br /> <br />other facilities are found throughout the Basin for the utilization <br /> <br />of resources related to fishing. <br /> <br />" .~ <br />, <br /> <br />Wilderness and Prj.mitive Areas <br /> <br />,->, <br /> <br />.AJ.l or parts of Jrine wilderness or primitive areas are f01md <br /> <br />in the Colorado River Basin. These are: (1) Flat Tops (2) Gore <br />Range-Eagle Nest (3) La Garita (about 1/2 of area) (4) Maroon Bells- <br />Snowmass (5) ~It. Zirkel (about 1/2 of area) (6) San Juan (7) <br /> <br />Uncompahgre (8) West Elk and Wilson Mountains. Area involved <br /> <br />is about 615,000 acres. These areas provide for numerous recrea- <br /> <br />tional activities in a natural and wilderness type atmosphere. <br />Mineral~ r;.~d"cfi'~ <br /> <br />Mineral land in the Colorado River Basin totals 1,415,lf53 <br /> <br />acres gj.
