The water in the North <br />Platte alluvium. which is Intimately associated <br />and hydraulically Connected to the river and <br />which extends across the Nebraska-Wyoming <br />state line. was not explicitly made part of the <br />decree. Groundwater development in this area <br />to date has been supplemental to surface water <br />and the North Platte alluvium appears to be <br />readily rechargeable. Therefore. any immediate <br />interstate prOblems are nof antIcipated. Any <br />significant increases in groundwater develop- <br />ment, however, could present some water quality <br />prOblems in the future. The continuing super- <br />viSIon of the North Platte River by the U.S. <br />Supreme Court would permit amendment 01 the <br />decree If it became necessary.
