G. Robson, is complete with detailed
hydrologic maps and chemical analyses, describes the hydrologic system
and ground-water quality in the vicinity of the waste-disposal areas.

Prepared in cooperation with the Metropolitan Denver Sewage Disposal
District and the Colorado Geological Survey, the report notes that only
5 of 53 of the wells sampled in the area contain water that has been
markedly degraded by the waste-disposal activities. One well sampled is
near the base of buried refuse in the landfill, two wells are located
downgradient and near sewage-sludge burial areas, and two wells are
located near stagnant surface ponds.

S. G. Robson, author of the report, said: "Water-quality degradation at
this time is confined to localized areas of the alluvial aquifer and
there is no evidence of water-quality degradation in the deeper bedrock
aquifers. With present disposal and hydrologic conditions, it
would take about 30 years for ground water near the disposal
areas to reach the nearest domestic well completed in the
alluvial aquifer and it would take about 500 years for this
water to reach the nearest domestic well completed in the
deeper bedrock aquifers."

"O\.UTlO-v

~~~0
~ ~
(3 '-\
_ m
a; <<
~ ~
.Vp.. ~
1>76,191'" @
~C'-_';:._.'
~~t.~~
I
:r~~{>;
.o:!-.;~.~ ;.
&~;!:i~
~L~
~~
I
~~'i;
,,~;:1.7..
~~~
;~A~
-~ii:~:r;
;.::~~.".'--
'~'.:::':~O

Y<:<...
~:i~{.;_'
, ,

. .~..

..:"'0..
0"'-.'"0

'.>_.~.- '.-

......-..

'.
